Tigo launches 2015 ‘Unplugged Concert’ edition

Accra, Nov. 6 (GNA) – Tigo Ghana has roll-out the 2015 edition of « Unplugged, » one of the biggest celebration of music, which is slated for November 28 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

The event would also be used to celebrate the first anniversary of Tigo music with customers ahead of Christmas.

The much anticipated concert would give customers the chance to see Ghana’s top music talents perform their favourite hit songs.

It would feature award winning hiplife and dance hall artists Stone boy, Shattawale, VVIP, Kwaw Kese, EL, Keche and MzVee, as well as Nigerian Afro dance hall musician, Patoranking.

Speaking at the launch in Accra on Thursday, Mr Jesse Agyepong, Tigo Director of Marketing said: « We made a huge impact on the music industry last year with the launch of our partnership with Deeper, the music streaming service.

« Through Tigo commitment to commercialise music, we have been able to give real value for money to our local artists and support to the Ghana Music Industry ».

He said Tigo Music last year won the « Most Innovative Product of the Year, » at the Ghana Telecom Awards which shows how relevant, time and insight driven the Tigo music brand has become.

Mr Agyepong said Tigo is proud of its achievements and « the tremendous response we receive for it and also expecting an even better response this year ».

He explained that the event is targeted at all Tigo customers adding: « We will continue to be part of the music industry because we believe that music delivers a great brand experience. We urge our customers to join us at the Baba Yara Stadium for fun – filled concert. »

This year’s Unplugged Concert is supported by Guineas Ghana Limited, Golden Tulip, Kumasi, Africa World Airline, EIB Group, Ultimate FM, and DPP.
