Accra, March 06, GNA – The ‘1987 Year Group’ of Tweneboah Koduah Senior High School (SHS) at Kumawu in the Sekyere Afram Plains, has renovated the school’s Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) laboratory to help promote computer literacy among students.
The renovation works involved rehabilitation of the roof, painting, repair of doors, fixing of air-conditioners and 30 computer sets.
In addition, the old students also assisted in extending the water supply system to the school’s kitchen and other places.
Mr Seth Amoako Hammond, Chairman of the Group, said the gesture cost them about GH¢60, 000.00 and was in response to an appeal made by the school’s Board of Directors.
The old students, he said, saw it as an obligation to give back to their alma mater, noting that they would not relent in supporting the school to improve its infrastructure for effective academic work.
Mr. John Bawuah, the Headmaster, commended the old students for their efforts and pledged that they would put them to good use.
He said ICT had become a critical subject and there was, therefore, the need to commit more resources to its teaching and learning.
The Headmaster lauded the government for the implementation of the ‘Free SHS Programme’, saying the days when students were sent home due arrears they owed in school fees, were now a thing of the past.
Mr. Bawuah pleaded with the government to resource them with vehicles in order to facilitate their activities.
