Praia, Sep 10 (Inforpress) – The University of Cabo Verde took over, for the next three years, the vice-presidency of the board of directors of the Cabo Verde Internet Exchange Point Association (CV-IXP), through the Pro-Rectory for Research and Technological Innovation from that institution.
In a statement, Uni-CV explained that the CV-IXP constituent bodies are the general meeting, the management and the supervisory board, with Uni-CV being part of the governing board.
The Cabo Verde Internet Exchange Point (CV-IXP) is a private association, of national scope, non-profit and endowed with legal personality, which is governed by the general law, the statutes and the regulations approved under the statutory terms.
IXP basically consists of creating a Traffic Exchange Point (PTT), which allows local Internet traffic in Cabo Verde to remain in the country. The association’s objective is to bring together entities, operators and service providers in the electronic communications and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) areas, namely the National Regulatory Authority, Internet access service providers (ISP), financial institutions and higher education institutions.
