Accra, June 12, GNA- Vitalii Vorontson from Ukraine won the 2022 African Duathlon Cup in the Men Elite division with a time of 53:25:24 secs in Accra on Saturday.
He was followed by Benjamin Zorgnotii from Thailand with a time of 53.28:99 secs and Uruguay’s Federico Scarabino came third with a time of 55.05:98secs.
In the female category, Chisato Nakajima, a Japanese came first with a time of 58.11.17secs, followed by Antoanela Manac Romania with a time of 1:01.50:15secs and Julie Staub from Mauritius with the third-place position after finishing in a time of 1:06.07:20secs.
Mr. Bawa Fuseini, President of the Ghana Triathlon Federation thanked all the sponsors, the management of Labadi Beach, athletes and Ghana Police for their support and services.
Duathlon is an athletic event which comprises two disciplines running and cycling, it is a continuous run-bike-run format similar to triathlons.
