VOINJAMA, Aug. 11 (LINA) – Citizens of Lofa County have presented L$530,000 to the Curran Lutheran Hospital in Zorzor City to assist in the purchase drugs, fuel as well as pay staff salaries.

According to Zorzor District Commissioner, Joseph Bedell, the money was generated from the one hundred dollar campaign recently launched by citizens of the district and other parts of Lofa County.

Commissioner Bedell said some stakeholders, including Vice President Jewel Howard Taylor, former Lofa County Senator Sumo Galakpai Kupee, Senator George Tamba Tengbeh and others also contributed to the fund drive.

Commissioner Bedell noted that the Curran Lutheran Hospital has in recent times been challenged by lack of funding to operate effectively, and hoped that the cash donation made by the citizens will help the institution to operate smoothly00.

Bedell, who wants the hospital to use the money for the intended purpose, indicated that they as citizens of Zorzor District are anticipating continuing the one hundred dollar campaign on a yearly basis to empower the hospital to deliver quality health services to the people of Zorzor and Lofa County.
