El-Kanemi Warriors FC boss advises fans to show love, not violence

Abuja, March 4, 2019 (NAN) Malley Kakaje, Chairman of El-Kanemi Warriors of Borno FC, on Monday advised football fans in Nigeria to show love to clubs and not violence.

Kakaje gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos, Southwest of Nigeria.

« Clubs thrive on support from fans, show your favourite club love and respect visiting teams that is the only way to go. The issue of violence should not be promoted in any guise.

« No matter the outcome of a match, either win or lose, fans should learn to accept it after full time. Football was a unifying platform and should not be used to trigger violence. »

Kakaje also commended the Nigeria Referees Association (NRA) for improved officiating in the 2018/2019 football season as the first stanza of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) ends.

« I really want to commend them, these days it doesn’t matter whether you are playing at home or away, we are assured of good officiating, which I really want to commend them for.

« I pray that it keeps getting better. We need this to be stable in our league, » he said. (NAN)
