Plan Int-Gh provides PPE to schools in Agona East district

Agona Nsaba (C/R) Aug 10, GNA –The Central Programme Unit of Plan International-Ghana (Plan Int-Gh)has donated a number of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to Agona East Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) for distribution to schools in 12 communities.
The items are; 30 hand washing facilities (Veronica Buckets) fixed on mechanized stands and 145 bottles of hand sanitizers.
It formed part of activities of a project dubbed “Rural Water, Sanitation and Hygiene” the organization is implementing in the area as its contribution towards fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mr. William Domapielle, the project manager and Mr. Alfred Dzikunoo, the District Development Coordinator of the organization made the presentation on behalf of Mr. Richard Buadu, Central Programme Unit Manager of Plan.
They stated that the project seeks to help to sensitize the school children on the dangers of COVID-19 and to help them to cultivate the habit of frequent hand washing with soap under running water, use sanitizers and observe all other protocols and to live hygienic lives.
This will go a long way to help protect themselves and others in the communities from contracting the Coronavirus and other communicable diseases and also to be ambassadors of the project.
Mr Francis Kobza, Human Resource officer, Agona East GES, who received the items on behalf of Madam Vida Amoah Mintah, Agona East District Director of Education, thanked Plan International-Ghana for their continuous immense contributions towards the proper growth and development of children in the country, especially in education.
“We thank you for taking the plight of children in communities, the project is implementing and will distribute them fairly to the schools in such areas and will ensure that thy are properly used for the purpose for which, they were donated”, Mr Kobza added.
