“Let’s Adore Pastor Bangura’s Legacy,” President Wea

MONROVIA, Sept. 20 (LINA) – The President, Dr. George Manneh Weah, has urged family, friends and members of the City of Hope Church to cherish and memorialize the legacy of the late Prophet, Ezekiel Leroy Lee Bangura.

“Let’s keep his legacy,” the President said, emphasizing that it was extremely painful and agonizing losing Pastor Bangura whom he described as a “good man who died so early while wicked men still have life.”

“I still remember he always said one day he would not be here. Yes, he is gone, but he left his wife and children and the church he labored to build. City Hope Church must live on and the memory and works of the fallen Pastor must be kept,” the Liberian leader said.

Paying an emotional tribute at the funeral of the late Pastor Bangura on Saturday, September 19, President Weah said the deceased lived his life teaching and preaching the Word of God, mentoring people and serving the needs of God’s children.

The President said he had known Pastor Bangura for over 10 years and found him to be a kind, selfless and diligent person who enjoyed and shared God’s blessings.

He consoled and urged the Church, family and well-wishers of the fallen Man of God to be strong, stressing, « We will miss him—we will miss his teaching, his preaching and his mentorship.”

“Today, I am here with heavy heart,” said the President further. “Madam Bangura, I know what you’re going through. I just want to extend my condolence to the family on behalf of the government and in my own name.”

Owing to the fact that the Pastor died at age 43, President Weah wondered why would “good people die so early and the wicked live longer.”

Pastor Bangura died on August 28, 2020, a day before his birthday, after a brief illness.
