African Women’s Junior Handball Championship: Morocco Best Algeria to Face Tunisia for 5th Spot

Monastir (Tunisia), 22/09/2023 (MAP) – Moroccan junior handball team beat, Friday in Monastir (Tunisia), Algeria 29-23 to face Tunisa in the fifth-place game of the 19th African Women’s Junior Handball Championship (September 16-23).

Morocco is participating in the 19th African Women’s Junior Handball Championship alongside 7 other countries, namely host country Tunisia, Egypt, Algeria, Angola, Nigeria, Guinea and DR Congo. The eight teams were divided into two groups in the first round.

Morocco was placed in Group B with Egypt, Angola and DR Congo, while Group A was made up of Tunisia, Guinea, Nigeria and Algeria.

Morocco started the championships with two defeats face to Angola (37-17) and Egypt (12-40).

The national team on Tuesday closed the group stage with a large victory over the DR Congo (29-15).
