Rabat, 09/01/2023 (MAP) – The strengthening of agricultural cooperation was the focus of a meeting, Monday in Rabat, between the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forestry, Mohammed Sadiki, and the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Malawi, Catherine Gotani Hara, on an official visit to the Kingdom at the head of a large parliamentary delegation.
On this occasion, Sadiki highlighted the excellent relations between Rabat and Lilongwe, expressing his desire that « the relationship between Morocco and Malawi will be translated into actions in the field of agriculture ».
For her part, Gotani Hara, accompanied by a parliamentary delegation, welcomed the level of bilateral cooperation, adding that « the Malawian agricultural model could be inspired by Morocco’s experience ».
These talks will make it possible to « benefit from Morocco’s experience, especially in the fields of agriculture, fertilizers and the fight against climate change, » to strengthen Malawi’s economy, which « depends heavily on agriculture, » she added.
The Speaker of the Malawi National Assembly held talks on Monday with the Speaker of the House of Councilors, Enaam Mayara, focused on how to strengthen bilateral relations through greater parliamentary cooperation, especially in the economic field, and with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi El Alami, on parliamentary cooperation to address common challenges.
