Dr Limann Technical University appoints new Director of Finance

Wa, June 25, GNA –The Governing Council of Dr Hilla Limann Technical University in Wa has appointed Mr Karim Kuuri as Director of Finance to run the financial affairs of the University.
Mr Kuuri’s appointment took effect from June 1, 2021.
He is charged with the responsibility of smooth running of the university’s finances and also safeguarding other resources for academic development.
A letter signed by Mr Vitus Songotuah, the Registrar of the University, called on the staff to give maximum cooperation and support to the first appointed Director of Finance of the University and other key officers.
Mr Kuuri brings to the position vast experience in the field of Finance and Accounting, having worked as the Director of Finance at the Tamale Teaching Hospital for ten years.
Mr Kuuri born on March 6, 1973, is an astute Chartered Accountant with a passion and track record for building and sustaining financial management systems.
He has over 23 years of experience in Public Sector Financial Management, Capital Budgeting, Corporate Finance, Health financing and accounting, Grants management, Business development and restructuring for Micropreneurs and Entrepreneurs and Investment planning.
He is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana). He is also a member of the Association of International Accountants in the United Kingdom and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Ghana.
Mr Kuuri also holds Masters in Business Administration (Finance Option) from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Cape Coast. He has, in addition, an Executive Certificate in Banking and Finance, and an Executive Certificate in Project Management.
He holds a Certificate in Change Management, Certificate in Financial Performance, Certificate in Economics and International Business, all from Berlin, Germany.
Speaking to the GNA in Wa on his new appointment, he expressed gratitude to the Governing Council of the University for the opportunity and pledged to work hard to justify the confidence reposed in him.
He said the position was a new challenge and called for the support of stakeholders to help change the narratives of the University.
During his ten years’ stay at the Tamale Teaching Hospital, he chalked some successes, which improved the fortunes of the hospital to befit its status.
He was noted to have provided excellent financial management leadership under four Chief Executive Officers for the past ten years.
He is also said to be a key resource person in developing Continued Professional Development (CPD) materials for and training Health Accountants in Ghana at some of their annual conferences and also engineered the adoption and headed the successful implementation of a computerized system for mobilizing and accounting for revenue.
