Amasaman(G/A) Nov 30, GNA- The Ga West Municipal Assembly has cut sod for the provision of mechanised boreholes in 10 communities in the area.
The beneficiary communities are; Kwashiekuma, Ardeyman, Okushiebiade, New Papaase, Onyabeman, Oshuiman, Otwiama, Odeiteiman, Samsam and Manchea all near Amasaman.
Mr Clement Nii Lamptey Wilkson, the Ga West Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) in an interview with the Ghana News Agency said the projects were expected to be completed within eight months in 2020.
He said 35 mechanised boreholes had already been provided in the area and that plans were in place for the supply of pipe borne water to cover the entire communities in the municipality to prevent any outbreak of diseases.
Nii Narh, the Stool Father of Manchea expressed gratitude to the MCE for the initiative and that for the past 120 years, the people in the community had depended on River Kyiribah for water for their household chores.
He said the population of the community had increased and the provision of the boreholes would be of great help to them.
