Journalist supports Tarkwa prisons

Tarkwa (W/R), Sept 13, GNA-A sports journalist who works with Medeama FM, a Tarkwa based radio station, has presented assorted items to the Tarkwa prisons.

The items included; bags of rice, bags of sachet water, cartons of washing powder soap, dettol, packs of toilet rolls, tubers of yam and balls of kenkey.

« l will continue to offer assistance to the Tarkwa prison whenever l put something together to augment government’s effort and I am entreating the public to remember the less privileged and the needy in society » the sports journalist said.
He beseeched the inmates to draw closer to God in the challenging moments and stick to the advice of their officers to enable them come out reformed so they could contribute their quota to develop their respective communities and the country.
Receiving the items, Chief Superintendent Francis Dotsey, the second in Command of the Tarkwa prison on behalf of the officer in-charge expressed appreciation to the sports journalist for showing generosity to those in need.
He said « the donation was timely because we struggle to provide three square meals for the prisoners because the GH¢1.80 allocated to feed each person daily is awfully inadequate ».
He appealed to individuals, philanthropists and benevolent organizations to extend their support to the Tarkwa prison.
