The preparation of the Nhô Kzik National Violin Festival, scheduled for Friday, 2nd, in Ribeira Grande, “is going smoothly and everything will be ready in time for its start,” the organization said today.

We will have a meeting of several generations of violinists here,” Francisco Dias, Councilor for Culture of Ribeira Grande, Francisco Dias, told Inforpress, explaining that young and senior violinists are taking part in this event “with the usual quality”.

The festival is scheduled for Friday, in the city of Ponta do Sol, with the participation of 13 violinists from various islands of the country, where this instrument is traditional, namely Santo Antao, Sao Vicente, Sao Nicolau, Sal and Boa Vista.

The islands of Fogo and Brava may not be represented in this year’s edition due to air connection difficulties, but the councilman told Inforpress that he is continuing to work towards getting this representation.
