World Cup 2030: Joint Moroccan-Spanish-Portuguese Bid Comes at Ideal Time after Atlas Lions’ Feat in Qatar – Zambian Football Association

Kigali, 17/03/2023 (MAP) – Morocco joint bid, with Spain and Portugal, to host the 2030 World Cup, comes « at an ideal time » after the Atlas Lions’ feat in the World Cup in Qatar, said the president of the Zambian Football Federation, Andrew Ndanga Kamanga.

« The announcement of this joint bid came at an ideal time, while the spotlight is on Moroccan football after the outstanding achievement of the Moroccan national team at the World Cup in Qatar, which is likely to strengthen the chances of this file, » Kamanga told MAP.

The president of the Zambian football federation noted that « Morocco has all the capabilities that qualify it to host the World Cup, » adding that « the level of football in Morocco is very high, and compared to the rest of African countries, it seems clear that Morocco has the best facilities thanks to the huge investments that the Kingdom has made in the areas of infrastructure and training. »

HM King Mohammed VI had announced, on Tuesday, Morocco’s joint bid, with Spain and Portugal, to host the 2030 World Cup, in a message on the occasion of the presentation of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) President’s Outstanding Achievement Award-2022.
