Paria, Sep 29 (Inforpress) – The European Union (EU) has funded more than 12 pilot projects in the field of inclusive and sustainable tourism which have covered almost all the islands of the country since 2015, EU Ambassador in Cabo Verde Carla Grijó revealed today.
Carla Grijó announced these data during her intervention in the open conversation under the theme “Public Policies and International Cooperation for Tourism”, without, however, specifying the amounts.
The event was promoted by the Government, through the Ministry of Tourism and Transport, in partnership with the City Hall of Tarrafal, and the Tourism Institute of Cabo Verde, as part of the World Tourism Day, observed today, under the theme “Tourism for Inclusive Growth”, whose central act was the stage of the municipality of Tarrafal de Santiago.
Among the projects, the diplomat highlighted the tourism networks created in the island of Santo Antão, ecotourism in Fogo, and solidarity and community tourism in Maio.
