Accra, July 29, GNA – Yussif Amadu, Ghana’s sole Paralympic high jumper, is keen on qualifying to the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.
Amadu, who represented Ghana in T42 high jump category at last Paralympic games in Brasil, remains buoyant about making his second appearance at the mega sporting event.
In an interview with GNA Sports from his base in New Jersey, USA, Amadu said, « I would step up preparations for qualification when I return to Ghana.
« There are some upcoming qualification championships in Germany and UK and I would be taking part in either of the qualifiers to secure my ticket to Tokyo.
Amadu, appealed to individuals and corporate bodies to support his agenda of making appearance for Ghana at the next Paralympics.
« I am pleading for financial support to help me prepare and facilitate my participation for upcoming championship, » he noted.
Amadu won Gold in the 2015 Desert challenge Games and placed 7th in 2016 Paralympic games in Rio.
