Accra, Oct.31, GNA – Yusif Abubakar, has been appointed as the head coach of the national U-23 team, Black Meteors.
The former Aduana Stars and Techiman City coach would be assisted by former player and coach of Asante Kotoko Micheal Osei, as they prepare for the 2019 Confederation of African Football (CAF) U-23 Cup of Nations qualifiers, which start next month.
Nassam Yakubu, has been handed the role of goalkeepers’ trainer for the team and with his vast experience with the senior national team, he would prove crucial to the qualification to next year’s championship.
The Black Meteors would face Togo in the first qualifying round encounter as they seek to surpass the West African counterpart to progress to the next round.
