Accra, Dec. 20, GNA-The All Nations University College in the Eastern Regional capital, Koforidua, is to inaugurate a FIFA recommended standard football pitch at the Akuadum Road Campus of the School next year.
The Inauguration, would be preceded with a football tournament between the All Nations University Collage, Koforidua Technical University, University of Ghana, University of Cape Coast, Kwame Nkruma University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Valleyview University and the Central University, which will be use to formally launch the inter University Soccer Tournament in Ghana.
The inter-university football tournament is expected to provide opportunities for brilliant students with passion for football to pursue their passion and their academic desires at the same time.
This is expected to help Ghana to produce highly educated world class footballers and future soccer administrators and managers.
This was announced by Dr Samuel Donkor, President of the All Nations University Collage, at the end of year banquet for the staff of the University and their families at Koforidua.
He said next year, the University will start its graduates school, which will offer Masters in Philosophy in Business Administration, Master of Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering , Master of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering and Master of Art in Biblical Studies.
Dr Donkor said the University will also be introducing a number of undergraduate programmes including Bachelor of Engineering in Food Processing.
He said in 2019, the University and the Danish Space Technology Institution will collaborate to start the construction of GhanaSat II, which will be a metrological satellite, which will focus on weather forecasting and aviation weather forecasting.
Dr Donkor explained that GhanaSat II would help improve agricultural production, provide better disease outbreak predictions, monitor climate change and help in disaster management.
He said next year, nine more lecturers of the University would be defending their Doctor of Philosophy (PHD) thesis to join the ten who graduated this year.
He said the issues relating to the Charter of the University, had reached an advanced stage and soon the University will receive its Charter and thanked all members of staff for their hard work, which had taken the University to its current status.
