(SLENA, 18th March, 2021). Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Germany, His Excellency M’Baimba Lamin Baryoh has called on his colleagues African Ambassadors to vote for Sierra Leone as a member of the United Nation Security Council (UNSC).
He expressed Sierra Leone’s desire to become one of the two Non-Permanent members for African States in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). Adding that his mission has sent Notes Verbale soliciting support to vote for Sierra Leone.
Ambassador Lamin Baryoh made the appeal during a virtual meeting held in Berlin, Germany in support of the newly elected Director General of World Trade Organization (WTO), Ngozi Okonjo-Iweda.
He said the key priority of the New WTO Director is to work with member states to quickly address the economic and health consequences brought about by COVID-19. “I wish her every success on behalf of the Government and people of Sierra Leone in her endeavors,” Ambassador Baryoh told members of the African Group Ambassadors.
