Accra, Aug.07, 2018 – Avatime FC, Volta Region based U-13 football club, thrashed Asogli Young FC 9:1, in a friendly game at Biakpa in the Volta Region.
Avatime FC, was formed two months ago with U-13, U-15 and the second Division side, to identify and harness talents as well as to promote tourism in the region and its surroundings.
Coach of Asogli Young FC, Mr Kudiabor Foster prior to the match said his team, which has been in existence for years, was going to have an easy run and a convincing win over Avatime FC, but the results turned different.
Mr Salifu Umar Farouk, head coach for Avatime FC in an interview with GNA Sports, said he had to hard work to get the best out of his boys, to have that convincing win.
« I am working with a young team with so much ambition and passion for the game, we worked so hard over the time to build such a formidable team.
« All the boys gave their best and worked extra hard to prove a point that hard work pays, we are going to have a return leg on coming Sunday 12th August, 2018, at the Ho Sports Stadium and I know we would be the better side again, » he added.
According to coach Farouk his team the U-13 and U-15, who outpaced and mesmerized the experienced Asogli Young FC to the admiration of the spectators are going to augment the main Avatime Division two side, where they would be integrated into the team gradually when Ghana football come to normalcy and the Division Two league starts.
