Business Links Africa donates oxygen concentrator, other PPEs to Effia-Nkwanta

Effia – Business Links Africa, a network of like-minded professionals have donated oxygen concentrator and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital in the continuous fight against COVID-19.

The items included cover ups, pulse machines, 1000 pieces of N95 masks, five blood pressure devices estimated at GHC40,000.00.

Nana Sikahene, Chairman of the Business Links Africa, said the association was moved by the eagerness of health care professionals and their resolved to work hard in bringing the disease under control.

The PPE and other equipment would help them to continue to provide skilled healthcare for citizens during the pandemic in Ghana.

Nana Sikahene, added that, « as we read and studied news about the COVID-19 pandemic around the world and its rise in Ghana and the challenges to our healthcare practitioners and citizens. we could not settle for our people…hence our decision to make a difference in the lives of the people of the Western Region with this donation as our Covid-19 project ».

Dr. Joseph Tambil, Director of the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital, told the donors that, « You made that right choice by choosing us for your kindness… your thoughtfulness is well appreciated ».

He said the facility which is the main referral for the two Western Regions was undergoing lots of restructuring and rehabilitation to better serve its purpose and therefore, support from stakeholders and well-meaning Ghanaians could never be under estimated.

« We are building the COVID-19 centre which can host and hold over hundred patients with support from the GIZ and the German people, » he added.

The Member of Parliament for Sekondi, Mr. Andrew Egyapa Mercer, who witnessed the donation, was inspired by the love of the Association and therefore urged them to form a stronger bond with the hospital to meet the needs of fighting the global pandemic.

He described the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital as a facility that was dear to his heart in providing the healthcare needs of the people and pledged to work with like-minded people like the members of the Association in meeting the daily needs.

The Business Links Africa, is made of Ghanaians residents in the USA, United Kingdom and Ghana who have come together to identify gaps for opportunities and potential risks and, seek to close the gaps with entrepreneurial and business oriented solutions.
