Accra, Dec. 08, GNA – The Church of Pentecost has launched the Chairman Education Foundation (COPCEF) at a ceremony in Kumasi to raise one million dollars in the next 10 years for expansion of facilities at the Pentecost University College.
The initiative is also to give support to needy and underprivileged students of the University struggling to meet the financial demands of tertiary education.
Apostle Dr Daniel Walker, Rector of the PUC, said the initiative tied in with the Church’s vision 2023.
This highlights plans to continue to support the PUC to become “a university of choice in Ghana and Africa that produces excellent graduates to meet the demands of our society.”
“The local and international accolades chalked by the University, within this short time of its existence, is an ample proof of the Church’s resolve to transforming the face of tertiary education in the country,” he noted.
Apostle Dr Walker said the PUC had distinguished itself, especially in the area of research and organisational structure, as well as courses encompassing Information Technology (IT), Nursing, Business Administration, Physician Assistantship.
He said the University’s Mission was to provide holistic tertiary education to help produce a breed of quality human resource vital for the socio-economic growth of the nation.

Apostle Eric Nyamekye, the Chairman, Church of Pentecost, and Chancellor of the PUC, under whose auspices the COPCEF was launched, appealed to corporate organisations to strive to get on board to help achieve the objectives of the Foundation.

“It is our desire to ensure that financial difficulties do not become a barrier to the attainment of academic excellence,” he noted.
