Praia, Mar 25 (Inforpress) – The Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, said Tuesday his government has fulfilled its objectives, despite the contingencies Cabo Verde has experienced as a result of “severe” crises periods.
Ulisses Correia e Silva made these remarks to the press on the sidelines of an event to present the governance balance of the 9th legislature with the Prime Minister, organized by the Parliamentary Group of the Movement for Democracy (MpD – ruling party).
“We have fulfilled. Within the country’s contingencies … it had never happened to any government to go through periods of crisis as severe as ours. We inherited a crisis in 2016, economic and social crisis, three years of severe drought, the worst in the last 37 years,” said the head of government, adding a year of pandemic.
Even so, said Ulisses Correia e Silva the economy grew, the Government created 26.000 jobs in the non-agrarian sector and if there was no “such a serious crisis” in the agrarian sector the current governance would have reached the promised 45.000 jobs.
