Sunyani, May 04, GNA – Godfred Donsah, a Ghanaian international who plays Bologna FC in Italy has set up a fund to support healthcare delivery with a seed capital of £3,000.
The 24-year-old midfielder told GNA Sports in Sunyani that he was set to launch the Godfred Donsah Foundation, a charity organisation at the Sunyani Coronation Park on June 18, 2021.
Donsah, a native of Nsoatre in the Sunyani West Municipality said he had prioritised healthcare and his fund would be used to provide medical devices and hospital equipment to deprived communities.
“Already my Foundation has donated an ambulance to the Kwatire Poly Clinic, as well as some hospital beds and medical devices and equipment to the Nsoatre Health Centre”, he said.
He added that “our agenda is to furnish the Sunyani Municipal Hospital with modern medical equipment”.
“We are ready to complete and furnish the ongoing maternity ward at the Sunyani Municipal Hospital with modern medical devices, beds, and equipment to make our mothers safe during labour,” Donsah said.
The Ghanaian international appealed to the general public to support a fundraising rally to be held during the launch to mobilize enough resources to support deprived health facilities in the Bono Region and the country in general.
