Espargos, 16 Apr (Inforpress) – The Minister of Tourism and Transport assured Thursday that the return of the Cabo Verde Airlines plane to the country saves 300 jobs and the payment of a set of other expenses.
Carlos Santos made these statements, at a press conference, in Sal Island, after the plane arrival at the Nelson Mandela International Airport, in the City of Praia, about 13 months after the suspension of flights, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Welcoming the completion of the Boeing from Cabo Verde Airlines certification process by the Civil Aviation Agency (AAC) in Iceland, the ruler said the arrival of the device marks the resumption of the airline’s flights, at a time when the resumption of tourist activities is taking place, in essence, the resumption of economic activity in the country.
According to Carlos Santos, the Government “never gave up” on saving the company, for three reasons, namely saving 300 jobs, as a result, 300 families who depend on this company, secondly to follow up on what is the strategy of creating the Air Hub of Sal, inserted in a “broader vision” of creating a hub and a platform for redistributing passengers and cargo.
