Higher Education discusses setting up of America International University

(SLENA, 5th November, 2021). Three senior officers from Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Technical and Higher Education are in The Gambia on a working visit aimed at creating productive educational connections between the two sisterly countries.

The Head of delegation Dr. Josephus Brima said “we are here on a return visit to engage the Chancellor of the America International University West Africa, Dinesh Shukla, who was in Freetown in August of 2021 and expressed active interest to use Sierra Leone as the Hub for the establishment of the America International University

Adding, “we are in search of relevant information and to see, first-hand, the operations of the America International University in The Gambia”.

Chancellor Dinesh Shukla said that the University is modelled on the United States system of education and offer a wide range of programmes such as Medicine, Pharmacy,
Nursing management and information technology, among others.

He said that “the mission of the University is to provide a curriculum tailored to meeting the requirements of industrial and community developments, and to prepare students academically, practically and professionally to enable them hit the ground running in the medical industry.”
