Accra, Aug. 2, GNA – Kinderhulp Ghana Foundation, a Netherland-based charity organisation on Wednesday, presented three safari motorbikes worth GHC160,000 to the Aduonya, Kwabena-Kuma and Adaeboroso health clinics in the Sunyani West District.
Two of the motorbikes were procured by Isala Worldwide, a foundation of the Isala Zwolle hospital in the Netherlands whilst Dutch Chesse Sellers and Treur Kaashandel provided the other bike.
According to Johan Hannink, the Project Coordinator and Board Member of Kinderhulp, the foundation built the clinics for the Directorate, adding that, upon request, it recognized the necessity to provide the motorbikes to facilitate easy movements of the nurses and health staff.
In addition, the Foundation through the Heart for Children Foundation Ghana, a Ghanaian NGO, has built a borehole for the Aduonya community.
It had also built a six-unit classroom block and was currently constructing a kitchen for the Aduonya local Primary and Junior High Schools.
Speaking at a short presentation ceremony at Nsoatre, Mr Hannink said his foundation has plans to build two additional clinics at Kantro and Nkwantaso, also in the Nsoatre district, to enable the people to easily access quality healthcare.
The Kinderhulp Ghana foundation, he explained, worked to promote health, education and social development, and pledged its support to help raise the standard of health and education in the district.
Mr Hannink said he appreciated the hospitality of the Ghanaian people and expressed the hope that the bilateral relations between Ghana and the Netherlands would be strengthened for the benefit of Ghanaians in particular.
Mrs Eva Aryee, the Sunyani West District Director of Health, thanked the foundation for the gesture and appealed for more support in areas of medical devices, and health infrastructure.
She said the directorate had no ambulance and pleaded with the foundation and other NGOs and other donor partners to come to their aid.
Mr Solomon Boateng, the Founder and Director of Heart for Children Foundation Ghana, partners of Kinderhulp, advised the health directorate to ensure regular maintenance of the motorbikes.
He said his NGO is operating a children home and supporting handicap children as well as brilliant but needy students to pursue high academic excellence.
Mr Boateng also thanked the Kinderhulp foundation for the support provided to the people of Ghana and was hopeful that such supports would be extended.
