Nigeria: ITF to enroll trainees on professional certification in computer

Abuja, March 7, 2019 (NAN) The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) says it will enroll beneficiaries of its Infotech Skills Empowerment Programme (ISEP) for professional certification in computer networking, installation and its hardware.
The Director-General of the organisation, Mr Joseph Ari, stated this in a press release issued in Jos, North Central Nigeria on Thursday by the ITF Head of Public Affairs, Mrs Suleyol Chagu.
Ari said that the enrolment was part of the organisation’s efforts to enhance its trainees’ capacity for engagement both locally and internationally.
The director-general said that the gesture would improve their employability and provide them also with more requisite skills to establish their businesses.
«  The trainees would be enrolled for appropriate professional certification in computer networking, installation and its hardwares which comprises of CompTia A+, CompTia N+ and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) courses amongst others, «  he said.

The ITF boss said that the ISEP was designed to develop youths with specialised skills in computer hardware maintenance, advanced computer networking and computer networking.
« It will propel their certification as professionals hence shore up wealth creation and promote entrepreneurship.
« All trainees for the Computer Hardware and Maintenance and Computer Networking are required to hold a minimum of Ordinary National Diploma (OND).
« While beneficiaries of Advanced Computer Networking (CCNA) are expected to have a minimum of Higher National Diploma (HND) or an equivalent, » he said.
Ari said the programme, in its first stage was training 700 youths drawn from Plateau, Bauchi, Imo, Ondo, Kaduna, Cross River States including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
He told the trainees that only those with 70 per cent attendance and above 80 per cent in the final examination would graduate and be empowered with start-up kits.
