Luanda, 17 May (ANGOP) – The Angolan parliament members have recommended greater disclosure of the mechanisms of the SADC Regional Development Fund Operationalisation Agreement, valued at USD13 billion.
According to the legislators, dissemination and awareness, to society, should be limited to the financial and economic advantages that agreements of this kind can bring to the country.
The specialised committees of the National Assembly (AN) unanimously approved, last Friday, 14, the Draft Resolution for the Ratification of the Operationalisation Agreement of the SADC Regional Development Fund.
The agreement aims to create financial resources for the approval of economic, social and sustainable development projects in SADC member countries. The document will go to a final global vote at the AN’s ordinary plenary meeting on 19 May.
José Semedo, deputy rapporteur, noted that Angola is one of the member countries of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) that has participated intensely in the functioning of this regional organisation.
