MONROVIA, April 26 (LINA) – President George Manneh Weah has warmly congratulated the Government and people of the Republic of Sierra Leone on the occasion commemorating the 60th Independence anniversary of that sisterly republic.
In his message to Dr. Julius Maada Bio, President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, President Weah, on behalf of Liberia, extended warmest felicitations and sincere best wishes to the Government and people of Sierra Leone as they celebrate this historic milestone.
According to a Foreign Ministry release, the Liberian leader further hopeD that as Liberians join the hospitable people of Sierra Leone in celebrating this monumental milestone, the relations between the two countries will be further deepened for the betterment of the two countries and peoples.
He also expressed confidence that the two countries will continue to work together to promote peace, security and development in the Mano River Union basin, ECOWAS region and the African continent.
The Liberian President observed that despite the debilitating effects of the Corona virus disease (COVID-19), President Bio’s strong leadership has been demonstrated in navigating the scourges of the pandemic and restoring hope to the resilient people of Sierra Leone.
The Liberian leader then wished for his Sierra Leonean counterpart personal wellbeing, and for the people of Sierra Leone, a prosperous and happy year ahead.
