Spinal Clinic to establish chiropractic university

Accra, July 1, GNA — Dr Bryan Leon Cox, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Spinal Clinic Limited, says the Clinic is working towards establishing a chiropractic university in Ghana.

He said that had become necessary to properly train and produce qualified chiropractors who would use holistic treatment approaches to relieve people of stress-related discomforts.

Dr Cox said this during the 15-years anniversary celebration of the Clinic in Accra, on the theme: “Excellent Chiropractic Delivery.”

He said the Clinic was established to fill the knowledge gap in chiropractic health care in Ghana and that with the increasing cases of spine problems in the country, it was important to train professionals to provide such care.

Dr Cox said though many perceived chiropractic to be expensive, the end results were immense and provided more positive impact on the body than medications and other health care solutions.

He said the process had no negative side effects and that it was time the populace considered that option.

Mrs Faustina Cox, the Chief Operating Officer of the Clinic, said on January 9, 2006, the vision of establishing a Chiropractic Clinic was birthed in a small three-bedroom space at the Nungua Barrier in Accra.

“Looking back our shoulders, it has been nothing but a journey worth taking. Starting with one man’s vision to help and see more people get better through a drugless approach was a vision that seemed impossible to accomplish. But today, we stand to celebrate 15 years already,” she said.

Mrs Cox said within a space of 10 years, the Spinal Clinic had opened new offices in Tamale, Bolgatanga and Nyaniba Estate, which were later moved to Labone and East Legon.

She said as membership kept increasing from 60 people a day to 100 a day, they moved from Nungua to Lashibi branch in 2012.

Mrs Cox said a major challenge the Clinic faced was getting trained doctors from outside Ghana and underscored the need to establish a university to train locals.

The Clinic had engaged in different community services, including the provision of potable water to some deprived areas in Accra, clean-up exercises and yearly donations to vulnerable individuals and institutions, she said.

With its competitive advantage in quality service delivery, the clinic could give the best care to guarantee strong immune system for a « dream lifestyle” for the individual and encouraged people with spine problems to visit the facility.

Mrs Cox said the facility had recently acquired the most effective decompression machine at the East Legon branch to help clients with disc problems as well as working on a one-stop office where all natural health needs could be accessed for total satisfaction.

“Our loyal members are quarterly going to be awarded with different incentives to appreciate your continual membership and loyalty. And to our potential clients, please know that you will enjoy all of the above mentioned and in addition enjoy first visit discounts and any other package in place for you,” she said.

Mrs Florence Tandoh, a client, said she got into contact with Spinal Clinic when she developed serious health conditions that almost paralysed her.

“My health complications were because the type of work I did required siting for long hours. However, after being introduced to the Clinic by a friend, I started experiencing improvements in my health and finally recovered,” she said.

Mrs Tandoh said recently, she began experiencing breathing difficulties and some sharp pains and noise in her ears but after seeking health care from the Clinic, all those issues had halted.

Mr Joseph Kudjordzi, another client, lauded the staff for their professionalism and excellent customer care adding that his frequent visits to the facility had cured him of various bodily pains without taking drugs.

Certificates of appreciation were given to some loyal clients.

Among the awards the Clinic had received within the past 15 years were – the Customer Service Leadership Award in 2010, Enlistment into Ghana Customer Service Hall of Fame in 2012, Outstanding Leader in Chiropractic Care of the Year, 2017.

The rest were Best Medicine Practitioner in Chiropractic Practice, 2018, Best Personality in Chiropractic Practice, 2019, and Overall Best Chiropractic Centre of the Year 2019/2020.
