Accra Dec. 31, GNA- Traders in the Central Business District on Monday danced away December 31 as various spinners’ mounted their equipment to churn out various tunes of music
The speakers that were mounted at strategic points were to entertain them in their various uniforms to be ushered into the New Year.
Samuel Nii Ayi a spinner said he was hired by the traders to provide music from morning till 1800 hours.
Henry Thompson, a spinner said although he was offering his service to the traders he felt happier seeing them dance to the various tunes.
According to him he and his colleagues have been providing music on yearly basis to the traders.
Naa Okaley, a trader said the year had been stressful and they needed a day to dance and interact with their colleagues.
At Tema Station, the situation was not different. Some traders and drivers’ unions also danced to music played.
Some of the traders said they had started their celebrations, saying « God has been good over the year, so we are appreciating him for everything and a successful year ending ».
The Bobolibobo song by Evangelist K. Aning was observed to be the most played tune enjoyed by traders at the Central Business Market and Tema station.
