MONROVIA, June 7 (LINA) – Swedish Ambassador Ingrid Wattervist has said her government stands ready in supporting Liberia to establish war and economic crimes court.

Ambassador Wattervist highlighted the need of setting up the court in Liberia as a key to national healing and recovery.

She indicated that establishing the war and economic crimes court will put end to the impunity syndrome that has impede the country’s justice system, adding that the process is important in strengthening the judiciary.

Therefore, she said, the Swedish embassy will help support the Liberian Government in establishing the war and economic crimes Court for those who have been victimized to seek justice.

Ambassador Wattervist made the commitment Monday at the 4th National Judicial Conference being held under the theme: The Law, Public Policy, and the Economy at the Ministerial Complex in Congo Town outside Monrovia.

The 4th National Judicial Conference brought together Justices of the Supreme Court of Liberia, Judges, Magistrates, Lawyers, International partners, an Associate Justice of Sierra Leone, President of the African Bar Association of Nigeria and other prominent individuals.
