Two Nigerians nabbed for concealing drugs in « Kako »

Accra July 19, GNA – Two Nigerians who concealed drugs in stock fish aka Kako and attempted to traffic it through the General Post Office in Accra have been arrested by the Narcotics Control Board (NACOB).
A statement from NACOB explained that the two suspects, Theophilus Biney and Jeff Nnaana-K residents in Ghana were arrested at two different locations attempted to traffic 21.7 kg of methamphetamine, a narcotic drugs to the Philippines’.
The suspects Biney alias Godwin Orji aka Goody aged 37 attempted to post 21.7 kg of methamphetamine, and when he was arrested he claimed it was Nnaana-K, 36 who gave him the drugs to be sent to one Victor a resident in the Philippines.
Nnaana-K on his arrest narrated that the consignment did not belong to him but it as one Offor resident in Nigeria who gave them to him to be given to Biney, to be delivered through Ghana Post to one Victor in the Philippines.
Methamphetamine is a crystallised synthetic stimulant mainly used as recreational drug and is highly addictive, increases alertness and feelings of wellbeing of abusers.
Its addictive nature causes body temperature of the abuser to rise so high that he or she could pass out.
« Methamphetamine has the high tendency of causing emotional and thinking anxieties, » the statement said.
NACOB is advising the public to desist from delivering parcels for and on behalf of others since that had been the conduit for trafficking narcotic drugs.
It further encouraged the public to voluntarily provide information on suspected persons involved in drug related issues.
The two suspects have since been put before court, the statement said.
