WR GSS promises to get everyone counted

Takoradi, July 11, GNA – Authorities at the Western Regional Statistical Service say though July 11, marked the official ending of the 2021 census, it will continue to get everyone counted.

Mr. Ernest Nyarko, the Western Regional Director of the Service told the Ghana News Agency that though the official ending was July 11th, many more people needed to be counted saying, « we cannot afford to neglect or leave any person behind, we all matter in the process and as such must be counted ».

The Regional Statistician described the exercise so far as peaceful but with limited challenges usually emanating from respondents. Nevertheless, « it has been good so far and we are on course. »

He mentioned that the top most challenge was the absence of people especially the working class.

The Director said field officers had to move very early and late evening to meet the respondents.

He pledged that the service would work hard to get every household enumerated for government to have a fair data for development projections.
