MONROVIA, Sept. 15 (LINA) – The Liberia Land Authority (LLA) has launched its official website and emailing system as part of ongoing efforts to enhance information dissemination as well as creating a corruption-free institution.
The website also seeks to reduce stress on the citizenry who are home and abroad by providing adequate information on land issues in Liberia.
“We want to encourage Liberians at home and abroad, as well as our international partners to make maximum use of the LLA website and the emailing system that have been launched, most especially, customers who want to get redress about land- related issues in and out of Liberia,” said Madam P. Bloh Sayeh, LLA’ Vice Chair for Administration and Customer Service.
Speaking at the official launch of the website and emailing system in Monrovia on Monday, Madam Sayeh said the launch of the website is not only going to provide information but is going to always reduce the high-level of corruption and the too much stress within the system.
Held under the theme: “Enhancing the Visibility of the Liberia Land Authority,” Madam Sayeh said “the website also touches something very close to my heart,” adding: “When you computerize you limit a lot of corruption in the system and it opens doors for transparency.”
According to her, the initiative is “a milestone and a dream come true which cannot be overlooked by anyone,” noting that it is “a perfect opportunity for citizens to know more about the LLA, get better redress while in their various homes through the use of the website.”
« As we begin this new portal that is now open here, we are very happy because this is the major access to information for the LLA and also for the government on land issues in Liberia.
“Our land issue is now been accessed, I commend the Executive Director Stanley N. Toe and his team and COMAX ICT for building the platform and our partners for their support,” she noted.
According to her, the Liberia people stand to gain a lot from the website as long as the LLA takes all necessary advice from the technicians.
“We look forward for more growth in the LLA,” said Madam Sayeh, adding that, “We in Liberia need to take advantage of it and join our partners to help make our land sector vibrant like other West African countries.
“Our staffs have visited Ghana, Nigeria, Tanzania, among others, to get more ideas” she stated.
Madam Sayeh further noted that the platform will also help the institution both socially and managerially because the more access to information, the more good decisions will be made, and it will also help with the entity’s internal communication.
She cited: “If we want to see what our people are doing in the counties or want to send us message, they will send us email, including deeds, where we will have perfect interaction through the email and ensure that what needs to be ratified is done.”
For his part, the LLA Executive Director, Stanley N. Toe, expressed gratitude over the successful building and launch of the entity’s website and thanked the World Bank, Swedish team and other partners for working together and for ensuring that the LLA has a perfect institution, including the emailing system.
Presenting the website, the Vice President/CFO of COMAX ICT, George F. Collins, said the platform was built perfectly to the extend it is user friendly and interactive, noting, “Whenever you want any inquiries about land matters, you can call, you can email and you get respond faster in your home than coming to the head office.”
