Sharm el-Sheikh, 26/05/2023 (MAP) – The African Development Bank (AfDB) will support human capital in Morocco in the coming years, for stronger and more inclusive growth, announced the Bank’s resident representative in Morocco, Achraf Tarsim.

« The AfDB will also support the management of water and energy resources to strengthen the resilience of the Moroccan economy to exogenous shocks », said Tarsim in an interview with MAP, on the sidelines of the 58th Annual Meetings of the AfDB, held in Sharm El Sheikh.

He continued that « innovative and structuring projects are currently being implemented in the transport and logistics, renewable energies, agricultural and rural value chains, entrepreneurship and vocational training, health and water sectors. »

The Bank supports the course set by the Kingdom’s new development model, stressing that this ambitious vision of HM King Mohammed VI will help consolidate the foundations of green, sustainable and inclusive growth, for the benefit of all Moroccans, he further added.

« The AfDB will intervene in key areas such as water, agriculture, social inclusion, infrastructure and energy efficiency, to broaden its portfolio of operations. »

The aim, according to him, is to deepen the excellent partnership between Morocco and the Bank, which will be reflected in the launch of projects and programs with a high potential impact on territories and populations.
