Pres. Weah To Reach Out To Muslims In Counties

MONROVIA May 31 (LINA) – President George Manneh Weah is to reach out to Muslims in the counties to render support to their fast and prayer during the Ramadan, an official has disclosed.

Making the disclosure on a local radio Talk Show via mobile phone on Thursday, the Coordinator of the President’s Special Project, Makeneh Keita, said the President will tour Grand Cape Mount and Bomi counties during which he will donate food items to the Islamic communities in those counties.

According to Madam Keita, the President has already donated food to Muslims in Montserrado County.
She also revealed that the President will visit Gbarpolu, Nimba, Bong, Lofa and Margibi counties to make donations to Muslims there.
Keita stated that the President plans to cover the 15 counties of Liberia to make similar donations.

She said when she contacted the Grand Mufti and other Islamic leaders of Liberia, they expressed gratitude to the President for his kind gesture to Muslims in the country, adding, « They said although he has been helping Muslims, they did not expect this much. »

She disclosed that the President will on Friday, June 1, break the day’s fast with the Islamic leaders from around Montserrado County.
