AFCON Futsal (Semi-final): Morocco Trash Libya (6-0), Qualify for World Cup

Rabat, 19/04/2024 (MAP) – The Moroccan national team has qualified for the final of the Futsal Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON Morocco-2024) and secured a place at the next World Cup, after beating its Libyan counterpart 6-0 in the semi-finals on Friday at the Palais des Sports of the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat.

The Moroccan team’s goals were scored by Soufiane El Mesrar (3rd, 22nd), Youssef Jouad (6th), Bilal Bakkali (12th, 29th) and Anas El Ayyane (17th).

To claim their third title in a row, the Atlas Lions will face Angola in the final, which qualified at the expense of Egypt (7-3).

The final and classification game will take place on April 21, at 8pm and 5pm (GMT+1), respectively.

The top three teams in this African contest book their tickets at the Futsal World Cup, to be held in Uzbekistan from September 14 to October 6.
