Buenos Aires, 28/05/2024 (MAP) – Africa is part of a “positive metamorphosis towards progressive continental integration”, thanks to strategic and solidarity-based cooperation between African countries, Moroccan Ambassador to Argentina, Fares Yassir, said, citing the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline and the Atlantic Initiative launched by HM King Mohammed VI, as examples of this strategic cooperation.

Speaking on behalf of the African group during Tuesday’s celebration of Africa Day in Buenos Aires, Fares Yassir underlined that cooperation between African countries favors public-private initiatives, with the contribution of African and international investment funds.

He also pointed out that South-South cooperation increasingly plays a determining role in creating effective economic momentum between Southern countries, within the framework of the Global South.

The Moroccan diplomat stressed that Africa’s vitality lies in its cultural, religious and linguistic wealth which consolidates and promotes the values of cohesion and solidarity between its peoples.

It is clear that Africa will pave the way for inclusive economic growth and access to new technologies by investing in its human potential, through education and professional training, the diplomat said.

Regarding Latin America-Africa relations, Fares Yassir underlined that thanks to their immense natural wealth, trade in raw materials plays an important role in their bilateral relations, noting that bilateral trade reached $30.2 billion in 2021.
