Addis Ababa, 18/05/2023 (MAP) – Morocco reiterated before the Peace and Security Council (PSC) of the African Union (AU) the imperative of the multidimensional approach to peace, security and development to meet the challenges facing the continent.

Ambassador, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the AU and UNECA, Mohamed Arrouchi, who was speaking Wednesday during consultations between AU Chairperson Azali Assoumani and PSC members, reaffirmed that Morocco remains firmly committed to the imperative of adopting a multidimensional approach to peace, security and development to meet the multiple challenges facing the African continent.

The Moroccan diplomat emphasized the decisive role of prevention and mediation, to which the PSC must pay special attention in order to diagnose situations that could degenerate into violent conflicts.

Arrouchi also insisted on the need to adopt a multidimensional, operational and action-oriented approach within the framework of the « Nexus Projects », as set out in the Tangiers Declaration, adopted at the level of AU Heads of State and Government.
