COVID-19 / Maritime Transport: Authorities guarantee all measures to prevent pandemic in Santo Antão

Porto Novo, May 11 (Inforpress) – The Porto Novo Health delegate, Isaulina Delgado, assured today that “all the necessary preventive measures” to deal with the new coronavirus pandemic will be taken in this municipality and throughout the island of Santo Antão.
With regard to the resumption, as of today, of the maritime transport of passengers between São Vicente and Santo Antão, with the end of the state of emergency in these two neighboring islands, the delegate of Health of Porto Novo reassures the Santo Antão citizens that “all measures” have been taken to keep this island free from the pandemic.
Isaulina Delgado, however, urges citizens to help health authorities prevent the outbreak in Santo Antão, by following “all preventive measures against the spread” of COVID-19.
The official explained that in Porto Novo port there will be, daily, teams made up of three health technicians for the sanitary control of passengers, a number that may increase according to needs.
