Division One league qualification – Paramount Chief of Avenor congratulates Akatsi All Stars FC

Akatsi (VR), Sept. 13, GNA-Akatsi All Stars secured a slot to the national Division One league after winning the Volta Regional Division Two League.

The final clash which saw a high display of local football at the Ho Sports Stadium on Sunday, ended goalless with Home Stars, at the end of regulation time.

The match travelled to penalties with Akatsi All Stars emerged winners on a 3-1 aggregate.

Togbe Dorglo Anumah VI, Paramount Chief and President of Avenor Traditional Council who is also one of three patrons of the team in a to both the players and the entire management team of the club, expressed his heartiest congratulations to them for qualifying to Division One.

 « I wish to express my immense joy at the sterling performance of Akatsi All Stars that culminated in winning the final match, thereby gaining entry into the premier division of Ghanaian football,”.

He indicated that the team was the touch bearer of all the values the people of the Avenor State hold dear, « therefore I could not be prouder of them for winning the Division One qualifier finals at this auspicious time in the history of the people of Avenor State, » he said.

Togbe Dorglo commended Mr. Joseph Kwaku Horgle, Mr Bernard Ahiafor, Member of Parliament (MP) for Akatsi South who are fellow registered patrons of the team and all management team members for their unflinching supports « which undoubtedly has spurred the team on to this remarkable victory”.

He also commended Mr. Solo Adotevi, Mr. Gatsi Peter, and Mr. Dorkenu for their immense contribution for the team.

On his part, Mr. Bernard Ahiafor in a tweet, has extended his congratulatory message to the entire Technical board for their determination and qualification.

« My support to the team remains unflinching. This is one more step towards progress in the constituency, » the statement reads.
