Mahama, Bawumia and Nitiwul donate to Yendi Catholic Diocese

Yendi (NR) Oct 31, GNA- As their support to the Yendi Catholic Diocese during their 25th Anniversary celebrations, former President John Dramani Mahama, Mahamadu Bawumia and Dominic Nitiwul have supported in both cash and kind.

While former President Mahama, Presidential candidate of the NDC donated a seven-seater vehicle and cash amount of GHS 50, 000, Dr Bawumia, Presidential candidate of the NPP through the Defence Minister also donated a cash amount of GHS 100, 000.

Mr Nitiwul personally donated GHS 30, 000 towards the same programme.

The occasion marked the 25th anniversary celebration and the Episcopal Silver Jubilee of Bishop Emeritus Most Reverend (RV) Vincent Sowah Boi-Nai (SVD) on the theme: 25 years of rural evangelisation: challenges, prospects and way forward as synodal church at Yendi in the Northern Region.

In his goodwill message Former President Mahama said Bishop Emeritus Most RV. Vincent Sowah Boi -Nai dedicated himself to factions of all tribes of Yendi Municipality for peace and commended him for his instrumentality in returning peace to Dagbon.

He commended the church for establishing numerous schools in the rural areas and thanked the church for the healthcare by supporting the government’s efforts in their training institutions.

Mr Dominic Nitiwul, Minister of Defence who represented Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia said the government recognized the church’s partnership and appealed to them to continue with their good efforts.
