Rabat, 24/01/2023 (MAP) – Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fettah said on Monday that Morocco has concluded agreement to promote and protect investments with 26 African countries, becoming the second country in Africa and in the Arab World to seal the largest number of investment conventions.

Responding to a question from the group of the National Rally of Independents (RNI) on « the evolution of the economic integration of our country with African partners » during a session of oral questions in the House of Representatives, the minister said that Morocco attaches crucial importance to economic integration with several partners, especially African ones during the last two decades, under the enlightened leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, who gives a place of choice to cooperation relations between African countries.

Referring to the renewed perception of the concept « South-South » adopted by the Kingdom, Fettah recalled the operationalization of an important project in the African Union, which is the African Free Trade Area, which is one of the priorities of the action plan of the Union to 2063, adding that Morocco has joined this convention and contributes to its implementation.

She also noted that Morocco is working to be the real gateway to Africa for its partners, either in Europe or in other poles, noting in this sense « the very important logistics investments » giving the country investment opportunities.
