Morocco’s Qualification for World Cup Semi-Finals: AU Commission Chairman Congratulates HM the King

Addis Ababa, 10/12/2022 (MAP) – The qualification of the Atlas Lions for the semi-finals of the Qatar 2022 World Cup is « an immense joy and pride offered to Africa, » said the Chairman of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat who congratulated HM King Mohammed VI.

« Morocco, what an immense joy and pride offered to Africa. To His Majesty Mohammed VI, the Moroccan people and the Atlas Lions, our warmest congratulations for this great African achievement unique in its kind. Go ahead, the cup is within reach! », wrote Moussa Faki Mahamat in a tweet.

Morocco qualified for the semi-finals of the World Cup (Qatar-2022), after beating Portugal by 1 goal to 0 on Saturday at the al-Thumama stadium.

The winning goal of the Atlas Lions was scored by Youssef En-Nesyri in the 42nd minute.
