Muay-Thai: Morocco Participates in 2024 African Championships

Rabat, 20/02/2024 (MAP) – Morocco’s national Muay-Thai team is participating in the 2024 African championships, scheduled for February 21-25 in Egypt.

In men’s category, Morocco will be represented by Amine Chtioui (-51 kg), Achraf Ouhaji (-57 kg), Abdallah Saadi (-60 kg), Hamza Hmidach (-63.5 kg), Mohammed Yassine Mahsoun (-67 kg), Abdelali Zahidi (-71 kg), Othman Tahiri (-75 kg) and Amine Saja Eddine (-91 kg), the Royal Moroccan Federation of Kickboxing, Muay-Thai, Savate and similar sports said in a press release.

For ladies, the national team is made up of Kaltoum Akhlouf (-48 kg), Oumaima Belourat (-51 kg), Salma Ajbour (-54 kg), Ichrak Laaroussi (-57 kg), Douaa Akhlouf (-60 kg) and Kawtar Baarab (-63.5 kg).

Moroccan athletes will be supervised by national technical director, Abderrahim Ghardach, and national coach Lahcen Ouassou.

Morocco will be also represented by referees Said Al Kahouz and Mustapha Ghannam.

Twenty-eight countries have confirmed participation at the 2024 African Championships which will be the first round of pre-qualifiers for the 2025 World Games in China.
