Sal Rei, Jun 30 (Inforpress) – The town of Povoação Velha will house the Casa da Morna of Boa Vista, a space identified by the local authority to value the island, considered as the cradle of this Cabo Verdean musical genre, which is a Unesco World Heritage Site.
According to the president of the Cultural Heritage Institute (IPC), Jair Fernandes, who is visiting the Boa Vista Island to hold working meetings with local partners, namely the City Hall, related to projects linked to the preservation of heritage and creation of new offers in terms of cultural tourism on the island.
Accompanied by the director of Museums, Ana Samira Baessa, and architect Ricardo Ortet, Jair Fernandes said that the building where the former customs was located will house the Archeology Center of Boa Vista, framed within the scope of the Operational Program of Tourism, which aims to preserve the natural, cultural, heritage and human resources of the country, with a view to diversifying the cultural tourism offer.
As stated by the official, the implementation of the Archeology Center of Boa Vista project also has MARGULLAR2 project financing, to conduct programs related to the conservation and protection of the environment and promotion of the efficiency of resources whose global funding is 110 thousand euros.
