Stephen Appiah welcomes Muntari to the Phobian family

Accra, Feb. 02, GNA – Former Captain of the Black Stars, Stephen Appiah, has congratulated Sulley Ali Muntari, following his move to reigning Ghana Premier League (GPL) Champions, Accra Hearts of Oak.

Muntari, who won the UEFA Champions League with Inter Milan back in 2010, signed a new deal with Hearts of Oak on Monday and is set to feature in the ongoing Ghana Premier League (GPL).

Appiah who made 21 appearances for Hearts of Oak from 1995-1997, expressed his excitement with the move of his former national team colleague to join Hearts as he quests to win laurels with them.

Appiah posted this on his Twitter: « If there is one thing that makes me happy about your latest movement. It is the fact that your name will be written amongst the great players who wore the world most adored and envious Jersey. Welcome to the greatest club my bro…. Phoooooobia. »

Muntari who also featured for top European clubs including AC Milan, Portsmouth, Udinese, among many others would be available for selection when Hearts host city-rivals, Great Olympics, at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Muntari last featured in the GPL back in the 2001/02 season where he played for Liberty Professionals.
